LECTURE BY DANIEL RÜCKERT ON OCTOBER 31, 2024 - PEOPLE IN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Daniel Rückert of the Technische Universität München (TMU) for a guest lecture at the University of Bern.
This talk will focus on discussing the potential for AI for the personalised diagnosis and prognosis of diseases as well as the prediction of treatment response. In particular, Prof. Dr. Rückert will show how AI has already transformed the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of radiological images and how large-scale AI models (so-called foundation models or large language models) can also transform other areas in medicine and healthcare. Furthermore, it will be discussed how AI solutions can preserve privacy while also providing trustworthy and explainable solutions for clinicians.

Author Kathrin Passig has been investigating writing in the digital space for years now. Her lecture, entitled “What you don’t need to know any more: An Update” focused on what has changed in academic work and knowledge transfer with the progress of language models which, for example, have made ChatGPT possible.
